Car Insurance Eagle (Car Insurance). About a car thermastat?

About a car thermastat? When I went to change the thermostat on my car the bolt broke in half, so I went to the hardware store and got a bolt extractor, well that didn't work, so I thought that I had no other choice than to drill the bolt out but after i did that, I noticed that when I bolted it back up that it is not perfectly straight, I didn't put the new thermostat and gasket on yet but when I do I was wondering if it is even gonna work or if it's going to leak like crazy, or even if the new thermostat is gonna fit, I didn't try it out yet because the new one didn't arrive yet, I was just going to drive the car without one till it arrived. Any good advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

better to wait till you have the thermostat, then make sure to use silicone rtv.let it set up,cure, you should be fine. Well now go buy a tap for the drilled out hole and a matching bolt. Tap the old bolt hole and put your car back together correctly. You need a thermostat, it will keep moisture from building up in the engine believe it or not. I wouldn't drive it. Unless you have a belt driven or clutch operated fan. Driving it will either cause it to leak profusely or overheat randomly. Get it replaced and possibly replace the whole assembly. Well I think it may useful for u. http://giftchoice.info/428631/extractor

Eagle . How to Shift the Straight Ten Transmission

Many semi trucks have transmissions with several more gears than a standard five- or six-speed automobile transmission. This is due to the extreme loads the trucks carry, allowing the vehicle to make maximum use of engine torque. Shifting a straight 10 transmission may seem complicated at first, but it is very similar to shifting a standard five-speed transmission with an additional switch that changes gears one through five into gears six through 10.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Depress the clutch and place the gear shifter in the "Neutral" position. The "Neutral" position is in the middle of the gearbox. Switch the hi/lo switch on the shifter to the "lo" setting, if it's not already.
2
Depress and hold the clutch. Shift into first gear. First gear is at the bottom left of the gearbox.
3
Push the accelerator while simultaneously letting out on the clutch pedal. The vehicle will begin moving and the RPM meter will increase. Shift into the next gear once the RPM climbs over approximately 2,000.
4
Depress and hold the clutch, release the accelerator and push the shifter into second gear. Push the gear shifter up into neutral then up again and slightly to the right to enter second gear. Simultaneously release the clutch and press the accelerator. You should complete this step in a fast, fluid motion.
5
Continue with the same method until you reach fifth gear. Third gear is directly below second gear. Fourth gear is up and to the right of third gear. Fifth gear is directly below (bottom right of the shifter) fourth gear.
6
Depress and hold the clutch, release the accelerator and pull the gear shifter into neutral. Switch the hi/low switch on the shifter to the "hi" setting, then move the shifter into the "first" gear position. When the switch is set to "hi" this becomes sixth gear. Push the accelerator while simultaneously letting out on the clutch pedal. The engine will engage and the RPM meter will increase.
7
Shift into gears six through 10 similarly to shifting into gears one through five; each gear in the "hi" setting becomes a different gear--first gear becomes sixth gear, second gear becomes seventh gear, third gear becomes eighth gear, fourth gear becomes ninth gear and fifth gear becomes 10th gear.
8
Downshift by depressing the clutch, releasing the accelerator and shifting into a lower gear. Slowly release the clutch but do not press the accelerator. Downshifting slows the vehicle. Use the brakes as well if you need additional stopping power.
9
Shift into reverse by depressing the clutch and pulling the gear shifter into the "reverse" position. Reverse is to the left and up. Note that reverse has two speeds. Start reversing with the switch set to the "lo" setting and switch it to "hi" once engine RPM increases above 2,000.

Eagle . How do I Make a Clutch Pedal Feel Lighter?

If your clutch pedal is becoming increasingly difficult to depress, there are multiple components that may need to be serviced including the clutch itself. Knowing something about car maintenance and troubleshooting can help to save you time and money in the long run.
Common Problems
One potential problem that may be causing the clutch to require more effort to depress includes the piston binding, which is in the bore of the release cylinder. Other problems may include the binding in the pedal linkage, cable, fork or pivot ball, according to AA1. If the hydraulic system has a blockage or leak from worn out seals, the pedal effort may increase as well.
Clutch Pressure Plate
Another problem that may cause the clutch pedal to require more force includes the pressure plate. However, due to the complexity of the components and their interdependence upon one another, there is no sure way to know whether the problem relies with the pressure plate. Replacing the pressure plate involves removing the clutch disk and the transaxle. It may require the replacement of the entire clutch assembly.
Pedal Distance
If you have recently done any work on the clutch, there is a chance that the pedal distance is set incorrectly, requiring more force to push the pedal further than you normally would. Use a repair manual or contact a service technician for the specific clutch pedal height for your vehicle. Adjust the pedal height by loosening the locknut on the pedal stopper and turning the stopper until the pedal is set to the correct height.

If you tend to ride your brakes (keep your foot on the brake pedal when you drive), they're getting more than normal wear and should be checked more frequently. .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings Use extreme caution when checking vehicles with anti-lock brake systems. Some anti-lock systems are pressurized by an electric pump, and there may be more than 2,000 psi pressure in certain parts of the system! Checking your brake pedal If you're like most people, you're usually aware of only one part of your brake system: the brake pedal. You're so familiar with it, in fact, that you can probably tell if something's different just by the way the pedal feels when you put on the brakes. When you check your brake pedal, you simply do the same thing you do every time you drive: You step on the pedal and press it down. The only difference is that, this time, you pay attention to how the pedal feels under your foot and evaluate the sensation you get. The following steps tell you what to look for. Note: If your vehicle is equipped with power brakes (most are), check the brake pedal with the engine running. 1. With the car at rest, apply steady pressure to the brake pedal. Does it feel spongy? If so, you probably have air in your brake lines. Correcting this problem isn't difficult; you can probably do the job yourself with the help of a friend. For instructions, see "Bleeding Your Brakes" later in this chapter. 811 Car Insurance ford mustang 2007 204779

Does the pedal stay firm when you continue applying pressure, or does it seem to sink slowly to the floor? If the pedal sinks, your master cylinder may be defective, and that's unsafe. 2. Drive around the block, stopping every now and then (but without driving the people behind you crazy). Notice how much effort is required to bring your car to a stop. If you have ordinary self-adjusting brakes, the pedal should stop more than 3 inches from the floor. If you have power brakes, the pedal should stop an inch to an inch and a half from the floor. If your vehicle has power brakes and stopping it seems to take excessive effort, you may need a new power booster. 3. If you feel that your brakes are "low" (that the pedal goes down too far before the vehicle stops properly), pump the brake pedal a couple of times as you drive around. Does the pedal now stop higher up? If so, a brake adjustment is probably in order — or you may just need more brake fluid. Check the brake fluid level by following the instructions in "Checking your master cylinder," later in this chapter. '>art'"" keeping ^our Car m Good Condition, System by System If the level of brake fluid in the master cylinder is low, buy the proper brake fluid for your vehicle (see "Flushing and Changing Brake Fluid" later in this chapter for tips) and add fluid to the "Full" line on your master cylinder. Check the fluid level in the cylinder again in a few days. If it's low, check each part of the brake system, following the instructions in this chapter, until you find the leak, or have a brake specialist find it and repair it for you. If you find that you're not low on fluid and if you can't adjust them yourself, drive to your friendly service facility and ask them to adjust your brakes. After that, the pedal shouldn't travel down as far before your car stops. Disc brakes self-adjust and should never need adjusting. Drum brakes,

however, have self-adjusting mechanisms that should keep the drum brakes properly adjusted. If any of the self-adjuster components on drum brakes stick or break, the drum brakes won't adjust as they wear out, resulting in a low pedal. 4. As you drive around, notice how your total brake system performs. Ask yourself these questions: • Does the vehicle travel too far before coming to a stop in city traffic? If it does, your brakes need adjusting or you need new brake linings.

Eagle . Where is the foglight fuse on mk4 astra?

*
• Does the vehicle pull to one side when you brake? On vehicles with front disc brakes, a stuck caliper can cause this problem. On older vehicles with front drum brakes, a wheel cylinder may be either leaking or stuck. I explain how to check disc and drum brakes in the section called "Getting at Your Brakes" later in this chapter. • Does your brake pedal pulsate up and down when you stop? Does your steering wheel shake when you brake? If so, and you have disc brakes, your front brake rotors need to be machined or replaced. A pulsating brake pedal is usually caused by excessive lateral run-out (mechanic-speak for wobbling from side to side), which can happen because your brakes are overheating from overuse. Make sure that your rear brakes are working. If not, they could be causing your front brakes to work too hard and overheat.

Eagle . Does catalyic converter for a 2000 explorer have 2 pans that would be sold separate?

*
• Do your brakes squeal when you stop fairly short? The squealing is a high-pitched noise usually caused by vibration. Squealing can occur when the brake linings are worn and need replacement, the drum or rotor needs to be machined, the front disc brake pads are loose or missing their anti-rattle clips, the hardware that attaches the brake calipers is worn, or inferior brake linings are in use. Totally eliminating a squeal can be difficult. When you open your brakes to check them, make sure that your rotors or drums aren't badly scored or worn and that plenty of lining material is left. Also, .Chapter 18: Being a Buddy to Your Brakes and Bearings the brake pads on disc type brakes should fit properly into the caliper. xy k Some disc brake pads require special shims to eliminate squeal.
